Ipoh has its share of street art that are attractive reminders of the past.

Murals By Ernest Zacharevic
After many years, Ernest Zacharevic (famous Lithuanian artist based in Penang) has once again come to Ipoh - this time to refresh his original paintings around Ipoh Old Town.
The paintings now look as good as they did from day 1. Although some have been removed due to developments around town.
One of the paintings that you can no longer see is the row of ikat tepi that used to be on one side of a private car park.
If you’re planning to go for the heritage walk in Ipoh, you’ll see a good number of paintings by Ernest Zacharevic.

Murals By Eric Lai
A local art teacher has also made his mark around town and he and his students are credited for Mural Arts’ Lane.
This is a quiet area in Ipoh New Town where you can see a lot of murals in one visit. It is free to access, and you can stay for as long as you can bear the heat.
The paintings here are more vibrant and colorful than the ones by Ernest Zacharevic.
Some are of random subjects while others depict different cultures, traditions, environmental awareness, and festivals in Malaysia.
